What is periorbital photobiomodulation (PBM)?

Periorbital PBM involves applying specific red (660nm) and near-infrared (850nm) light wavelengths to the area around the eyes. This targets mitochondria in cells, increasing ATP production and reducing oxidative stress. It is a non-invasive technique leveraging light's therapeutic properties, known to influence cellular regeneration and tissue repair (Wunsch & Matuschka, Photomed Laser Surg, 2014; RCT, n=136).

How can periorbital PBM impact cognitive function and mood?

Emerging understanding suggests that the enhanced mitochondrial activity and reduced neuroinflammation induced by periorbital PBM can support neural health. This mechanism may lead to improved cerebral blood flow, increased ATP for neuronal function, and modulation of neurotransmitter pathways, contributing to better cognitive performance and mood stability by influencing brain energetics and resilience.

Is Angel Acid Orbital Defender a medical device?

No, the Angel Acid Orbital Defender (888-LENS) is CE-certified as an EU consumer wellness device. It is engineered with clinical-spec precision for personal wellness optimization, not for diagnosing, treating, or preventing medical conditions. Its design focuses on supporting physiological processes like cellular rejuvenation and energy production within a wellness context.

What is the recommended protocol for the Orbital Defender?

The Angel Acid Orbital Defender is designed for a simple, effective 10-minute session daily. Consistent application is key to leveraging the device's full potential for periorbital rejuvenation and potential broader wellness benefits. The device's ease of use and portability allow for seamless integration into any high-performer's routine, ensuring optimal adherence to the protocol.

What specific wavelengths and irradiance does the Orbital Defender use?

The Orbital Defender emits a precise combination of 660nm (red) and 850nm (near-infrared) wavelengths, delivered at an irradiance of >30mW/cm². This dual-wavelength, high-irradiance output is critical for deep tissue penetration and robust mitochondrial stimulation, ensuring optimal cellular response for both aesthetic and potential systemic wellness benefits (Barolet D et al., J Invest Dermatol, 2009; PMID 19587693).
